I have been inspired by many of my friends to start blogging again. I read their wonderful stories and think "Why can't I do this???" Well it is one of my New Year's resolutions to get started again. So once I figure out how to do this again you will get to hear about all my not so exciting things going on in my world!

Where is my BRAIN!

I think the older I get the dumber I get! I have sent the same email out at least 4 times today because I kept missing mistakes! That drives me crazy!

Just a few weeks ago I went to Megan's open house at the high school. We got to meet all her teachers and see what she will be working on through out the year. Im glad it is her and not me! I don't remember high school being that hard, but of course I never took the classes that Megan takes. And than there is Tucker who is scary smart. He is just like is dad! He barely has to study, oh wait he doesn't study, and he still gets A's. That drives Megan crazy. I am waiting to see where Colby fits. He loves school but does not like to do homework, he would rather be outside playing ball. It should be interesting!

It is scary to thing how much smarter my kids are than me. Let's just hope they don't figure it out any time soon!

20 Year Class Reunion

What a great weekend! Not only was it a 3 day weekend I got to spend it with some of my best friends. At first I was not very excited about my class reunion, not sure why?? When Jodi and Diane showed up on Friday night it was just like old times. Im not sure why we haven't kept in touch with each other, we don't even live that far from each other! I think we just get caught up in our kids busy lives and just forget to keep to take time out for our own friendships.

Well on to our night...Friday night was very casual. We all met up at a local bar in town. Our group of girls all met early for dinner. It was great to see everyone and it was just like old times. I think we all looked great! One thing I did learn was that I was no longer able to drink like I did 20 years ago! I really didn't think I was drinking that much. We got home around 1:00 am and sat around and talked until about 3:30. When I headed to bed I felt fine, but by 5:00 things had taken a turn for the worse. Im sure I don't have to explain!!!

Saturday we had a family picnic. Although I wasn't feeling that great it was wonderful to see everyone's kids. I have to give my husband a shout out...he was a huge help at the picnic. We had run out of drinks and than plates. He took care of everything! He is a keeper!

Saturday night we all met up again for dinner. We all got a chance to look at old yearbooks and school newspapers. It all seemed like such a long time ago. I don't remember having that big hair and crazy glasses but there were pictures to prove it. We all got a good laugh. We decided that we wouldn't wait another 10 years for our next reunion. I will be busy helping plan our 25th soon because I can't wait to see all these people again.

I would love to post pictures but of course my camera decided to stop working, so I will post as soon as my friends email them to me!

Im Not That OLD!

Have you ever just thought you wanted time to stand still? My 20 year class reunion is coming up this weekend and I can't believe it! I can't wait to see my friends from high school and relax and have fun, but I just can't get over the fact that I have been out of school for 20 years. I don't feel that old! This means 40 is just around the corner! When I was in highschool 40 seemed so old...

On Sunday night I talked with my bestfriend Diane on the phone. She had called to talk to me about the reunion and tell me about her dad who is really sick and getting ready to have heart surgery. It is such a reality check. Both of our parents have had major health issues and its really scary to think that they could pass away. I remember having dreams when I was little about my parents dying and how I would wake of in tears. Well it hasn't changed, the thought of them not being here scares me to death and brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. So on that note I am keeping Diane's dad in my thoughts and praying everything goes okay with his surgery.

On top of this Diane may not be able to come to the reunion. I can't imagine her not being there! Even though we don't talk everyday or see each other on a regular basis I don't want to do this without her! Maybe she is my security blanket. Highschool was not that great and it truly is something I don't want to do over again. Don't get me wrong I had fun in highschool and have alot of great memories but I will say there is a lot I would just like to forget! Having a daughter in highschool brings back all those memories, girl drama, homework, boys, arguing with my parents...but the one person that was always there was Diane. So I am going to beg her to come. I will have my other great friend Jodi her on Friday but she is leaving on Saturday to go on her family vacation so we will see what happens on Saturday! Hopefully my security
blanket will show up!!!

Keep you eyes open for upcoming Class of 88 reunion pictures! Im sure you can't wait!

Back to School

I promise I will do better at getting my blog updated! I am a work in process!

So school has already been going on for the last week. This year was an easy start. No big changes. Megan is a junior at EHS, Tucker is an 8th grader at EMS and Colby in 3rd grade at Timmerman. As you can see in the picture they were very excited to head off to school!

We also have had another big change in our extended family. Megan's boyfriend Brandon started college at Wichita State. We took him down on Sunday to get him settled in his dorm. Even though he is not my child it was very hard to say goodbye. He has become such a part of our family over the last two years, the house will seem a little empty without him around so much. One good thing is that our grocery bill will go down! He will be back this weekend and we can't wait to see him.

Everything else is great in the Landwehr house. Megan is busy with cheer, Tucker is worn out from Football practice and Colby's is waiting for his flag football and basketball season to start. Never a dull moment!

Birthday Pictures

Colby's 8th birthday was on the 18th of July. I can't believe my baby is already 8 years old. Where does time go!!! I wanted to share some of the pictures with everyone. If you are wondering what is on his head...that would be a butterfly band-aid. A couple hours before his party he was playing basketball with a friend and ran into the front of our house with his head. Let's just say they was a lot of blood, but all C was worried about was his golf party. Everything turned out great and the boys all had lots of fun. If you are wondering Colby's favorite new sport is GOLF!

Omaha!

So we finally got away for a little family trip and it was GREAT! We had the opportunity to go watch our daughter's boyfriend Brandon jump in the Jr. Olympics and decided to make a weekend of it. It was so nice to get away. It was also fun to watch Brandon high jump. He is getting ready to leave for college in Wichita, which isn't that far away, but I will be sad when we do not get to see him every day. He has become part of our family over the last two years and I feel like I am losing one of my kids. I can't imagine what it will be like when Megan goes off to school! Okay I am holding back the tears!!!

So enough of that! Our trip was fun. We only had to drive 3 hours to get there which isn't that bad. Megan kept us entertained with her need for cookies. She did enough begging and pouting that she finally got her "Daddy" to stop. When we arrived we waited around for Brandon's parents to get there and headed off to eat at Granite City. We ended up going to bed pretty early because we needed to get up early to watch Brandon. He ended up doing great. There was a four way tie, each jumping 6 ft 10 3/4 in. He ended up getting 4th due to a miss earlier in the event. We were very proud he is an amazing athlete!

After that we headed off to the the Omaha Zoo. Doyle and Shelly joined us along with Derek, one of Megan and Brandon's goofy friends. We were looking forward to the zoo. We had heard great things and were expecting to see alot. Of course I took way too many pictures put I will post a few of my favorites. We were a little disappointed in the zoo. Maybe we have been to too many great zoos but Omaha did not live up to our expectations, maybe it was just too hot who knows. The zoo just seemed to be run down and not kept up. Frank and I always wonder why these organization give big money for new exhibits but seem to never give enough money to keep it up. Don't get me wrong they have some great exhibits but you can sure tell which ones are the new one and which ones have been around for awhile. Overall we had a good time and I enjoyed getting to spend some quality time with my family and friends.
